RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION OF OCCUPY BLACK CAUCUS AS IT DEFINES,
QUALIFIES, CREATES, AND ESTABLISHES MEMORIAL CITIES OVER AMERICA; CITIES THAT
EMBRACE UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS AND EVENTS IN HISTORY.

WHEREAS, Black children have been murdered as trophies of
white racists in post-slavery America long enough, and
WHEREAS, murdered Black souls discarded like road kill with
no effort at resolution or retribution have mounted long enough, and
WHEREAS, young Black men have been counseled by their
parents and homeys to sublimate their manhood and alter behavior to assuage and
accommodate the undeserved hateful stereotypes formed in the minds of a majority
public that would destroy them long enough, and
WHEREAS, Trayvon Martin, an unarmed, innocent, and beloved
child was snatched from his family and community by a racist coward who felt
superior to him because of the COLOUR OF HIS SKIN, and
WHEREAS, the murder of Trayvon Martin, as a social issue,
has galvanized the world’s focus and attention, and
WHEREAS, Black America has declared “Game Over” for killing
of Black people with impunity: “I AM A MAN”, “MY LIFE IS RELEVANT”, and “I, TOO,
SING AMERICA!”, and
WHEREAS, we wish to commemorate and honor each and
every Black child lost to the depravity of racial profiling, and
WHEREAS, the depravity of racial profiling is the result of
evil racial stereotyping, and
WHEREAS, the evil of racial stereotyping is the result of
the inane supposition of racial (white) superiority, and
WHEREAS, the inane supposition of white superiority is the
insidious seed planted by the calculating 1% of Americans who wish to
maintain control of this nation, its people, and its wealth via manipulation of
the 99% using racism/colourism, sexism, and pseudocastes to divide and thereby
conquer the masses who if united would surely challenge them, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, this day, March 23, 2012, by the
OCCUPY BLACK CAUCUS, that Sanford, Florida is forever
renamed TRAYVON MARTIN MEMORIAL CITY, “TrayCity, USA”.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, from this day forward, when one
enters the city limits of nee Sanford, Florida, one has entered the memorial to
Trayvon Martin. When one exits the city limits of nee Sanford, Florida, one has
left the memorial to Trayvon Martin. If one lives in nee Sanford, Florida, one
is part of a living monument to Trayvon Martin and ALL he represents. When you
walk the streets of nee Sanford, Florida, you steps upon a monument to Trayvon
Martin and his peers, our children.
When one talks, laughs, cries, and
breathes in Trayvon Martin Memorial City, USA, one does that in honor of Black
America.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, from this day forward, that
we conduct ourselves accordingly…
